About the Electorate
South Eastern Metropolitan Region is a diverse area, covering inner suburban areas,
coastal areas, established and developing industrial areas. It consists of 11 lower
house electorates and covers an area of 545 square kilometres.
These lower house electorates are Carrum, Clayton, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Frankston,
Lyndhurst, Mordialloc, Mount Waverley, Mulgrave, Narre Warren North and Narre Warren
South.
Included in the electorate are suburbs such as:
- Aspendale
- Aspendale Gardens
- Berwick
- Carrum
- Carrum Downs
- Chelsea
- Clayton
- Cranbourne
- Dandenong
- Frankston
- Glen Waverley
- Mordialloc
- Narre Warren
- Noble Park
- Patterson Lakes
- Seaford
- Springvale
The electorate also takes in the local government areas of Casey, Frankston, Greater
Dandenong, Kingston and Monash.
At the 2006 state election there were 412,943 voters enrolled in the South Eastern
Metropolitan Region.
