Daniel Andrews must ensure that aerial food drops for wildlife in fire-affected areas of Victoria begin as a matter of priority.
Wildlife that has survived the recent devastating fires is now at risk of dying due to starvation if immediate action isn’t taken by the Andrews Labor Government.
The New South Wales Government has already commenced aerial food drops for wildlife with thousands of kilograms of carrots and sweet potatoes being dropped to help prevent mass starvation.
There is also the risk of a significant number of deaths through starvation of endangered species if the Andrews Labor Government does not move quickly and commence aerial food drops.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Environment, David Morris:
“Wildlife across fire-affected areas have already been devastated, Daniel Andrews must take immediate action to prevent the mass starvation of wildlife that has survived.
“Aerial food drops began over a week ago in New South Wales; it’s time that the Andrews Labor Government acts to ensure animals aren’t forced to starve to death.”
