Alfred Hospital future - where there’s smoke there’s fire

Where there’s smoke there’s fire.

There is serious doubt over the future of the Alfred Hospital under Daniel Andrews.

Professor Mark Fitzgerald has today described the conditions at the hospital as “hopeless” and called for the State Government to provide clarity on the future of the hospital.

In response, the Minister for Health has failed to state any clear position on the Alfred - only stating that “we continuously monitor population growth and demand across the health system to plan all upgrades”.

In contrast, our position is clear.

We will never shut the Alfred Hospital, and we will ensure our health system is properly funded.

We will do this by shelving Daniel Andrews’ $35 billion Cheltenham to Box Hill rail line and reprioritising every single cent into health.

Only the Liberals and Nationals have real solutions to fix the health crisis and ensure Victorians can access the healthcare they deserve.

Shadow Minister for Health
