The Andrews Labor Government is continuing its April Fool’s joke on Victorians with nothing to show but a health system in crisis.
Two years ago today to much fanfare, the Andrews Labor Government announced $1.3 billion for an additional 4,000 ICU beds during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, Labor has continued to over-promise and under-deliver, with the state experiencing elective surgery waitlist blowouts, triple-0 failures, ambulance ramping, Code Yellow and Code Brown hospital shutdowns and staffing shortages.
Victorians have been left in the dark as to if that $1.3 billion has ever been spent, and if so, where has it gone?
Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier said this is yet another case of political spin from Labor, a shiny promise and nothing to show for it.
“It’s been two years since Daniel Andrews played the biggest April Fool’s joke on Victorians and we’ve been suffering ever since.”
“Labor needs to apologise for the blatant failure to deliver on its promise, and the radio silence on the matter two years later.”
“Daniel Andrews has spent 11 of the last 15 years as either Premier or Health Minister, yet he has failed to address the health crisis plaguing Victoria.”
“Only a Matthew Guy Liberals and Nationals Government has a plan to fix our healthcare system and ensure Victorians can get the support they need, when they need it.”
