The Andrews Labor Government promised it would end ambulance ramping and hospital bypasses. Last night’s footage of ambulances ramping at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is clear evidence that this promise is another Labor failure.
In 2016 Labor’s then-Minister for Health, Jill Hennessy, claimed victory saying that: “We have done things like removing hospital bypass, of which I am very proud. People said, ‘No-one will ever be able to do that without the sky falling in’. We worked very, very hard both with our paramedics and all of our health services to abolish hospital bypass.”
Again, words that ring hollow from a Labor government that can’t manage health and can’t manage money.
This is a real world example of the impact of Labor’s inability to manage the budget.
Hospitals are being forced to operate without the funding they need to provide patients the care they deserve.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Health, Georgie Crozier:
“Under Daniel Andrews, critically unwell patients are being left on ambulance trolleys or yoga mats on the floor when they are in desperate need of medical care in hospital.”
“Daniel Andrews has let down Victorian families in health from funding cuts, to cyber security attacks and patient wait times.”
