Andrews won’t say how much power prices will increase, but his modelling does

Daniel Andrews’ power plan is in disarray as Victorians continue to suffer higher power bills under Labor.

Tuesday’s federal budget confirmed a 56 percent increase in electricity prices over the next two years alone.

Speaking on his own plan, Daniel Andrews said “I can’t give you a, an exact dollar number and I’m not pretending to and I’m also not giving you an exact date”.

But his own modelling does exactly that – showing power prices will increase by 40 percent from 2025.

Shadow Minister for Energy and Renewables, David Southwick, said only the Liberals and Nationals had real solutions to put downward pressure on skyrocketing power bills.

“Daniel Andrews’ energy thought bubble has been burst,” Mr Southwick said.

“The Liberals and Nationals have real solutions. We will unlock natural gas and keep it in Victoria with a legislated domestic reservation within 6 months.”

“Only the Liberals and National have a clear plan that will deliver reliable, affordable and cleaner energy, while keeping the lights on.”
