Answers needed over bail system

Revelations the individual allegedly involved in the incident which ended with the tragic deaths of four Victoria Police members, was reportedly on bail at the time, raises serious questions Daniel Andrews must answer about Victoria’s bail system.

Why was the individual on bail and not in prison?

Had all bail conditions been met?

If not, why wasn’t bail cancelled?

Had any drug tests been conducted whilst on bail?

Has COVID-19 altered the bail reporting conditions?

Victorians expect the safety of the community to be the first consideration when bail is being considered.

Daniel Andrews must be transparent with the Victorian community and answer these questions, the tragic loss of four police officers demands nothing less.
