CFA volunteers leaving in droves under Daniel Andrews

The release today of the CFA’s Annual Report reveals that the Andrews Labor Government has failed to meet its own operational volunteer target by 5,000 firefighters.

The report also shows that volunteer numbers are plummeting, with 206 operational volunteers resigning in the past 12 months. Victoria has lost 3,955 operational volunteers since Daniel Andrews started his war on CFA volunteers in 2014.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:

“Emergency Management Victoria is predicting a higher than normal risk for the forthcoming fire season, yet Daniel Andrews has overseen a massive decline of nearly 4,000 CFA volunteers since being elected.”

“The disrespect shown towards CFA volunteers with the introduction of FRV from the Andrews Government has caused volunteers to leave in droves, placing communities at risk.”

“How many more volunteers will Victoria lose to Daniel Andrews’ war on the CFA?”
