Chaos reigns on Daniel Andrews’ disastrous West Gate Tunnel project

Daniel Andrews’ West Gate Tunnel project is in a hole with news that the project’s builders are attempting to terminate its contract with Transurban.

Under Daniel Andrews, the cost of the West Gate Tunnel project has already blown out from an initial $500 million project to now over $6.7 billion.

This latest action is set to see both the cost and completion timeframe of the West Gate Tunnel blow out even further, with Victorian taxpayers left again to pay for Daniel Andrews’ incompetence.

Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition, Michael O’Brien:

“Daniel Andrews’ “big build” has become the Big Bust with the West Gate Tunnel’s builders walking away.

“Labor can’t manage money and can’t major projects but it is Victorian families left with the bill.

“Daniel Andrews’ sweetheart deal with Transurban is already set to cost motorists billions; how much more is this latest mess going to cost Victorians?”

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Transport Infrastructure, David Davis:

“Daniel Andrews and his incompetent Ministers have mismanaged this project from the start.

“This was a special cosy deal with Labor mates and with a seriously flawed assessment as uncovered by the Auditor-General.

“Victorians now face real risks and financial exposure with a project commenced but now stalled in chaos.”
