Dangerous driving offences soar under Daniel Andrews

Today’s release of the latest crime stats from Victoria’s independent Crime Statistics Agency confirmed dangerous driving offences have skyrocketed under Daniel Andrews.

Between December 2014 and March 2019, recorded dangerous driving offences have risen from 424 to 1255 – a rise of 195.9%.

Already this year 151 people have lost their lives on Victoria’s roads. Despite Victoria running at the worst roll toll in over a decade, Daniel Andrews has cut roadside breath by 400,000 tests a year and ripped $2.9 billion from the Transport Accident Commission.

Road safety simply isn’t a priority under the Andrews Labor Government, that’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Coalition Government will;

• 1,000 extra drug tests every week

• Increase penalties for drug driving in line with drink driving

• Focus speed camera site selection on reducing road trauma, not raising revenue

Tragically, there are no second chances when it comes to road safety and for every week the government fails to take action, more lives will be placed at risk.

With cases of dangerous driving increasing rapidly under the Andrews Labor Government, these changes must be adopted as a matter of urgency.
