Daniel Andrews fails metropolitan train punctuality target, again and again and again!

The March 2019 metropolitan rail punctuality and performance data shows that Daniel Andrews and Labor have failed to provide the reliability the public demands and deserves of our metropolitan trains, with 11.6 per cent – more than one in ten trains - not on time.

The Andrews Labor Government has failed to achieve its 92 per cent on time benchmark every month this year, with the latest result the worst for the year.

Thirteen out of the sixteen metro rail lines, over eighty per cent of the metro system failed to meet the benchmark.

The Belgrave, Craigieburn, Cranbourne and Lilydale lines performed worst in March with over fifteen percent of trains running late on these lines in March.

In the last month of the Coalition Government (November 2014) metro rail system punctuality ran at 94.3 per cent, with 14 of the 16 metro system lines meeting and exceeding the current benchmark – in contrast with this dismal, underperformance of Daniel Andrews and Labor.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Public Transport, David Davis:

“Commuters expect a safe, clean and reliable train service.”

“They are not getting that under Labor with Daniel Andrews consistently failing to achieve acceptable punctuality targets and with performance only getting worse.”
