Grices Road Reserve upgrade for Clyde North

A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will invest $2 million towards the upgrading of Grices Road Reserve in Clyde North.

The current facilities at Grices Road Reserve have struggled to meet the growing demand of the local Berwick Churches Soccer Club, leaving local infrastructure to play catch-up.

The Liberals and Nationals’ commitment will go towards delivering a new synthetic soccer pitch and field lighting upgrades, meaning players will be able to play all hours of the day and night, as well as minimising maintenance downtime.

Shadow Minister for Sport, Cindy McLeish, said this announcement will go a long way towards meeting the growing needs of the Clyde North community.

“Local sporting clubs are a vital part of the community and the Liberals and Nationals are proud to support grassroots sport with this commitment.”

Liberal Member for Gembrook, Brad Battin, said the Berwick Churches Soccer Club is growing fast and they simply need the facilities to match their growth.

The need for quality soccer facilities in Casey is great and with the population in Berwick and Clyde North rapidly growing, so too will be the demand for the sport.

Clubs like Berwick Churches have had to knock back applicants who want to play due to a lack of facilities in the local area, and only the Liberals and Nationals will fix this.”
