Guaranteeing the future of Moorabbin Area Toy Library

A Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government will give the Moorabbin Area Toy Library a vital lifeline to continue the outstanding work they do for families across the region.

The Moorabbin Area Toy Library is a brilliant initiative, providing parents and carers the opportunity to borrow from a vast collection of toys for their children to enjoy.

The Library also acts as a community hub, where the more than 200 members, as well as previous members, can meet, make friends and discuss the journey of parenthood.

In recognition of this, the Liberals and Nationals will commit $15,000 to the Library to assist with rising rental and staffing costs.

Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, David Southwick, said the group was providing an important service for parents and carers.

“Having access to these affordable and accessible toys and learning tools is of critical importance in the development of a child’s creative, logic and motor skills.”

Liberal Candidate for Bentleigh, Debbie Taylor-Haynes, said she looked back on her membership with the Toy Library fondly and the time spent with the community of new mums.

“The women that run the Library are doing a marvellous job, providing families and carers who may be struggling with the challenges of parenthood a real lifeline and a community that is supportive and understanding.”
