In Parliament today the Andrews Labor Government voted down the Liberal Nationals’ amendment that would criminalise harming or threatening a police horse.
The need for this new law was made clear this week by the disgraceful and violent behaviour of protesters in Melbourne’s CBD towards police horses.
Daniel Andrews is all talk and no action when it comes to upholding law and order in Victoria and protecting vulnerable police horses from violent protesters.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Police, David Southwick:
“Victorians have had enough of these radical protesters, assaulting innocent civilians, assaulting police and attacking police horses.
“We love our animals, we love our police and we love our police horses, and they deserve our support and protection.
“It is shameful that Daniel Andrews chooses partisan politics over supporting this important new law.”
