Labor rips funding out of safer cycling paths to fund massive Hoddle St blowout

The safety of cyclists has been put at risk as Labor fails to complete safer cycling paths across the state.

Public Accounts and Estimates Committee documents (PAEC) released this week reveal that Daniel Andrews has ripped millions out of Labor’s $100 million “Safer Cyclists and Pedestrians Fund” to fund the over $40 million cost blowout on Labor’s shambolic Hoddle St project.

PAEC documents also reveal that out of the 15 announced cycling infrastructure projects, only 4 were completed.

Daniel Andrews can’t manage money and can’t manage major projects, and as a result the safety of Victorian cyclists is being placed at risk.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Road Safety and the TAC, Gordon Rich-Phillips:

“Daniel Andrews has placed the safety of Victorian cyclists at risk by not completing these bike safety projects as promised.

“This is yet another example of the safety of Victorians being placed at risk because Daniel Andrews can’t manage money.”
