Labor’s new big fat bureaucracy

Daniel Andrews is set to announce yet another big fat bureaucracy, straight from the set of ‘Utopia,’ to oversee his unfunded $100 billion plus suburban rail loop.

Labor has refused to detail its plans for this new body whose job it will be to ride roughshod over local communities, as the much maligned Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) has done.

This new authority’s reason for being will be to realise the Andrews Labor Government’s desire to reap massive profits from the forced densification of Melbourne’s middle ring suburbs.

When asked in Question Time today “What new taxes and charges on residents and businesses in the vicinity of proposed stations will help fund the suburban rail loop?”, Gavin Jennings, Labor’s Leader in the Upper House, refused point blank to answer.

Daniel Andrews needs to come clean with Victorians about how much more in new taxes and charges they’ll be forced to pay for his unfunded and uncosted suburban rail loop. David Davis MP
