Today’s waste management fire is the third Victoria has had in just two years and yet this Andrews Labor Government remains asleep at the wheel.
Three hazardous waste management fires in two years isn’t a coincidence, it’s a sign that there is a massive problem with the Andrews Labor Government’s management of this issue.
As Minister, Lily D'Ambrosio has been more focused on excuses than solutions.
This is a major failure of policy and oversight by the Andrews Labor Government and changes need to happen urgently before there’s another disaster.
This is also another example of this government’s lack of transparency and arrogance by hiding details of these three hazardous fires. If Lily D'Ambrosio is going to be honest and transparent with Victorians it needs to start with releasing all files and details relating to any show cause notices, actions taken and then followed up by the government.
The Liberal Nationals pay tribute to the bravery and courage of the firefighters and other emergency services workers at the scene. They should not have been put in this position in the first place if the Labor Government was doing its job properly. They deserve the total support of the government.
