Daniel Andrews is putting politics before planning. His Suburban Rail Loop has never been to Infrastructure Victoria – it doesn't have a budget and it doesn't have a business case.
The Andrews Labor Government intends to prioritise this thought bubble Suburban Rail Loop ahead of Metro 2 which has considerable stakeholder support.
The Suburban Rail Loop, which could potentially exceed $100 billion, will starve funds of worthy infrastructure projects and services that a growing number of Victorians in the country and the city will need over coming decades.
Daniel Andrews’ refusal to consult with the community and provide a plan for the project shows a complete disrespect to Victorian taxpayers.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Transport Infrastructure, David Davis:
“Proceeding with the Suburban Rail Loop without Infrastructure Victoria’s examination and a business case is reckless and arrogant.
Victorians aren’t mugs, Mr Andrews, let them see how your Suburban Rail Loop stacks up when properly assessed.”
